A Bag O' Cats
A Quiet Summer's Eve
A Gentle Wind Blowing Through The Tall Elm Trees
A Slight Falling Mist Of Rain
Relaxing Peacefully In My Summer House
I Am In The Middle Of No-Where
Only The Sounds Of The Crickets To Comfort Me
My Children Are Grown And Have Moved Away
My Husband Has Long Departed
I Sit In Deep Thought, Unaware Of Anything Around Me
I Relive The Memories That Only I Know
Alone Now, My Life, With No-One To Share
I Am Awakened From My Deep Thoughts
By A Strange Sound From The Front Porch
I Slowly Walk Towards The Front Door
"Hello"
"Is Anyone There?"
I Hear Myself Say!
No-One Answers
Only The Sound Of Falling Footsteps As They Run Away
I Fearlessly Look Through The Screen In The Door
Then I See A Moving Brown Bag On The Front Porch Floor
"What Is This?"
I Hear Myself Say
The Bag Stirs And Out Crawls A Kitty
"No Way!!!"

Scared And Alone, What A Pity
I Open The Door And Reach For The Bag
When I Open It, To My Surprise
Inside Are Four More Kitties And A Mommy Kitty Too
"A Bag O, Cats", I Utter
"Who Did This To You?"
I Brought Them Inside As Their Bright Eyes Stared
The More Time That Passed, The Less They Were Scared
I Petted Them All As Around Me They Stayed
Purring Happily And Cleaning Themselves As They Played
When I Got Up To Move They Were All Around My Feet
I Went To The Kitchen To Make Them Something To Eat
The Gap That They Filled Was More Than Can Be Expressed
That 'Bag O, Cats' Made Me Truly Feel Blessed
And Again On A Quiet Summer's Eve
Another Gentle Wind Blowing Through The Tall Elm Trees
A Slight Falling Mist Of Rain
Relaxing Peacefully In My Summer House
I Am In The Middle Of No-Where
Only The Sounds Of The Crickets To Comfort Me
I Sit In Deep Thought, More Aware Of The New Life Surrounding Me
Starting New Memories, I Am More Aware
I Have New Friends To Share And Care
I Close My Eyes And Tilt My Head Skyward
I Silently Give Thanks To God, For My Newfound Friends
And Whoever It Was That Left Me That "Bag O Cats"
